Practice on Wednesday, April 8th at 5:30pm

Good afternoon, Team! The weather appears to be looking wet for tomorrow. I am not sure if the rain will break long enough for us to have a practice at the fields. If it isn’t raining, we will have practice out at the fields, no matter how wet it is. We have a game on Friday night, so we really need to get the kids some more exposure to the game so Friday is enjoyable and not intimidating. I have a couple of backup plans, just in case it is too wet to practice on Wednesday at 5:30pm. 1. Practice Thursday at 5:30pm at the fields. I will bring my two goals and we will find enough grass to practice. 2. Practice Thursday at 5:30pm at the Memorial Building. I can bring my two goals and we can practice indoors, out of the elements. For the game Friday, the weather forecast calls for intermittent rain and a high of 57 degrees. Make sure the kids have a few things for the game: • Wear a long sleeve shirt under your jersey. No hooded coats because someone could accidentally grab the hood and choke another player • Wear a hat, if preferred. No hoods should be worn. A stocking cap is much safer. No billed hats, please. • If your child will go with it, try to keep them out of pants and in just your shorts. The socks go up to just below the knee, so they should be warm enough. • No chairs for the kids during the game. I will have a blanket to sit on, plus one to cover up with on the sideline when the kids aren’t playing. • Make sure they have a drink to drink during the game. • All parents/fans please sit on the opposite side that the players sit on. This will limit the distractions for the players. • If it’s wet, a change of clothes for after the game is recommended, especially socks! • Please show up about 5:15pm. This will give us time to set up, but not too early that we lose the attention span during the game…or maybe we do. As long as they all smile after the game, we have won.
